In her professional life Julie is an organic farmer with her husband Jack Kittredge. They own and operate Many Hands Organic Farm in Barre. Additionally Julie is the Executive Director of the Northeast Organic Farming Association/Massachusetts Chapter and coordinates with Jack the NOFA Summer Conference.

Musically, besides her involvement in Circle of Song, Julie is the president of the Quabbin Community Band where she plays French horn, and is a member of a brass quartet - Resurrection Brass - composed of QCB members. She has a handful of vocal and horn students. During the summer she plays with the Leominster Colonial Band.

Julie has been an active volunteer at the Quabbin Regional Middle/High School for almost two decades. Over her time there she served as president of the parent music booster group, produced or directed 10 high school musicals and also volunteered in the choral department the past 7 years. She often volunteers at Barre Players Theatre, most recently music directing Amahl and the Night Visitors and Sound of Music.

Recently a grandmother twice over, she is pleased to be part of life's amazing cycle.
