Dorrie Stewart-St. Onge
Dorrie has been active in music for most of her life, starting with her church Jr Choir. While in High School she sang with Narragansett Regional High School in the Chorus, Concert Choir, and Central District Concert Choir. She played Parsons in George Orwell’s 1984, and Genevieve in Camelot. She was also a soloist and member of a select double quartet out of Mission Street Church in Gardner. She toured Europe with Concordia Youth Chorale in 1969. She sang at Central Congregational church choir and performed in their variety shows. She has sung is the Greater Westfield Choral Association for five years
Her love of performing led her to musical theatre. She has performed with Athol Theatre Guild’s production of Oliver (rose seller), Up the Down Staircase (teacher), Fiddler on the Roof (Golde), Bye Bye Birdie (Mayor’s wife and assistant director), and Little Shop of Horrors (bag lady and stage manager). She has also performed at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner in Pinocchio and The Music Man.
Dorrie was president of the Athol Children's Choir and Teen Theatre Guild. Additionally she directed Oklahoma at Mahar Regional in Orange. She has acted and sung in many Barre Players' productions. She was Aunt Bessie in Child’s Christmas in Wales, the Ghost of Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol, a senator in Cotton Patch Gospel, and a nun in Sound of Music.
Dorrie lives with her very talented husband Michael in West Royalston on land that has been in her family for over 200 years. She is devoted to her children - Marc, his wife Michelle, and Joshua Winer. She has two wonderfully precocious grandchildren, Mara and Michael. She is a retired para-medic and currently works at Tolman Clinical Lab as a cardiac technician.
She is an avid quilter and seamstress, works with stained glass and makes jewelry in her spare time.
